Home/Private/Charter/Magnet Schools
1. Students in private, charter, or magnet schools must enter the audition process in the same Region as the public school ISD in which the private school is located. A private school student shall compete in the comparable UIL classification according to the enrollment of the school. A magnet school student shall compete in the UIL classification of the largest high school in the same school district. A charter school student shall compete in the UIL classification of the smallest high school in the same school district.
2. Students representing home schools must enter the audition process in the same Region as the public school ISD in which the home school is located. Home school classification is considered to be the same as the public high school in which boundary they reside. A home school student must minimally represent this classification.

- An active member of TMEA
- In attendance and available to serve as an audition staff member for any and all activities in which their students are involved.
- A private music teacher who is an active member of TMEA
- A parent who is an active member of TMEA
What are the responsibilities of a sponsor?
- Complete the online entry process for each sponsored student.
- Submit Entry Fees and paperwork to the Region Treasurer.
- Be available to serve at each region audition/event when the student is participating.
- Be familiar with the rules of TMEA
- Be present as a chaperone on both Clinic Days if the student is selected to the All Region Orchestra
- Be present as a chaperone during the All State rehearsals in February if the student is selected to the All State Orchestra.
